Important Application Info
The Application Form
The application form for each job is designed to give us a picture of your abilities.
We will use the answers you give us to replace a traditional CV or resume.
The Questions
If you do not understand the question, please do some research. There is a good chance that you will understand the question having done so, and be able to show us your critical thinking skills.
DO NOT leave questions blank. This will result in your application being ignored.
All questions are equally important. You should provide enough detail to answer each question fully.
Why We Recruit This Way
More and more companies are finding that traditional CV-shortlist-interview recruiting methods are no longer providing the results they require.
We have chosen to recruit in this way because we find it gives us better results, allowing us to identify truly high-quality candidates.
An Example Question / Answer
Here is an example question:
In your current job, explain why your production meetings work, or why they don't.
Here is an example answer to that question:
Two good things:One bad thing:
- Our Production Manager keeps the meeting to a tight schedule. She understands that it's more important for us to be coding than talking about coding.
- We come out of each meeting with a clear priority list for the week ahead, which our PM brings to the next meeting to make sure we're on track.
- We seem to find it difficult to resolve conflict in our meetings. I am not sure if this is because my co-workers are too aggressive, or if it's because our PM is too passive. It could be both, but then I guess it also could be part of a longer-term strategy that I don't yet understand.
